WANTED - NEW LEADERSHIP, NEW TRUST, NEW FAIR BOARD!

Come join us at the next Fair Booster meeting and help be a part of this years Booster events. If you have other Booster related photos which you wish to share, please forward them via e-mail to: fairboosters@gmail.com OR bring them to our next regular Fair Booster meeting held at the Washington County Fair Complex in the Cloverleaf Building every first Wednesday of each month 7:00PM - 9:00PM. [Note: Parking is available at the Fair Complex's west parking lot.]

Also, visit our NEW "Fair History" page (see above tab) for information regarding a book that the Fair Boosters are working on with a projected publication date of mid-2010!  Send in your old Fair & Rodeo photos and stories about the past Fairs to our Fair Booster Historian Inez Griffels as indicated on that page.

NOTICES:

1) The Board of Commissioners (BOC) recently announced at their 4/28/10 BOC Meeting, that they are now filling the Fair Board's FOUR (4) previously open positions, which were vacated and/or had terms expire on or before 12/31/09. Anyone interested in applying for these four (4) open Fair Board positions, which are NOW ALL designated as "At-Large" positions (i.e. ALL Fair Board positions are NOW open to ALL citizens of Washington County), as they are NO LONGER selected from and/or designated by the four "Districts" which make up Washington County, as per the recently approved MOU!  Applications for these four (4) open Fair Board positions are available at the Washington County web page or via the courtesy link provided here, (www.co.washington.or.us ). 

2) The BOC also announced at their 4/28/10 BOC Meeting, that the Fairgrounds Advisory Committee, a new committee which was created by the recently approved "MOU", whose purpose is to oversee the Fair Complex future development and building maintenance, is now open to the public to apply for, as the BOC is  taking applications to fill seven (7) out of the nine (9) new/open positions on this committee as created by the recently approved "MOU". Two of the nine (9) open positions on this new committee are to be specifically filled by; one (1) County Commissioner and the Fair Board President or designee. 3) We will be making a final vote on revisions to our Fair Boosters By-Laws at our next Boosters meeting to be held on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010. Please be in attendence to cast your vote for these "significant" By-Law changes.

4) Our "Washington County Fair History Book" will be published later this year! We will be at various Farmers Markets throughout Washington County starting with the Hillsboro Tuesday Market, on June 8th, 2010, 4:00 - 8:00 PM, in downtown Hillsboro (2nd Ave. & Main Street).  Please come by and say hellow and share your stories about the Fair events of the past! [Note: Other "Fair History Book" events for the year will be posted on our "Fair History" page (see above) as well as our monthly calendar (see below).

5) The Fair Boosters and the Washington County Dairy Women will be sponsoring our famous "Strawberry Social" on Tuesday, June 29th, 2010, from 5:00 - 8:30 PM, at the Hillsboro Tuesday Market. Come join us and enjoy a free treat of strawberries.
